Freestyle Sketchbook Session 03 by ISMILEALOT

Limitless Creativity. I would love to share my idea of limitless creativity with you that I had while drawing these two pages of random sketches. I limit myself just to black and white and 2 pens (at least at the moment) and only have the limitation of the two sketch pages which I force myself to finish in one sitting of 2 hours max. Working under those limitations I don't have to think about the color or which pen I will take next and there are only two pages I have to finish in the next 2 hours. I keep in my mind that they are only sketches and don't have to be anything near perfect or finished. These sketches are just are part of a journey that I don't know where it will take me to. And this is part of not knowing where it will take me is the part I enjoy the most. This could lead me to anything. I take this same thought with me when I'll try to make the music for these videos or when I take one of the sketches into Blender, Photoshop, etc. to see how I can take them further. And all this playing and fooling around without knowing where it could end gives me the feeling of limitless creativity. I once attended a talk by Saschka Useld he's a German animator who directed a short movie called "The Blue Umbrella" for Pixar. And in his talk, he told us the story of how he got from Germany to direct a short movie for Pixar. For a long time, he was obsessed with animating Umbrellas. He didn't know why but for some reason he had this "strange" passion for umbrellas and to bring them to life via animation. And somehow after years of animating umbrellas, he got a request from Pixar to direct a short movie for them. In his talk, he said that sometimes it doesn't matter to know the reason why you do something as long as you are passionate about something it might take you to some places that you could even dream of. I hope this was a little inspiration for you too. Thanks for watching & reading.
